I usually just write first to NewsBreak and then “scrape” the whole thing (along with all the picture references and URLs) to Medium (maybe with a slightly different title and some extra lines or maybe a paragraph to make it materially different). The scraped pictures actually post into Medium just fine and then I cut out the picture URL references and fit them inside the Medium picture. Medium is so efficient and easy to deal with that I start with NewsBreak first and then work back from there. I leave it up to chance to see which story gets the higher payout. Invariably it seems Medium does.
